Rylee Blade 1st Place Girls Division 1 Final - California CIF Cross Country State Championships 2023
Published by
Rylee Blade, a junior at Corona Santiago High in California, won the Division 1 state title in 16:48.5 on the 5-kilometer layout at Woodward Park in Fresno at the CIF State Cross Country Championships. Blade helped the Sharks secure their first state crown in program history with a 57-58 victory against three-time defending champion Buchanan High. Blade became one of five female athletes in California prep history to run sub-16:50 at Woodward Park on multiple occasions. She joined only Ventura's Sadie Engelhardt and former Santa Rosa standout Julia Stamps in 1995 as the only girls competitors to achieve the feat twice in the same season. More videos
